What counts as an emergency

A burst pipe, a leak that is actively flooding a room, no water supply at all to the property, a toilet that is the only one in the house and will not stop overflowing, or a total heating failure in cold weather. Those jump the queue. A dripping tap or a slow blockage can wait for a normal booking and does not need emergency pricing.

If you smell gas

If you smell gas, that is not our emergency call-out, it is the National Gas Emergency Service. Turn off the gas at the meter if it is safe to do so, do not use any electrical switches or naked flames, ventilate the property, and call 0800 111 999 immediately. Once the emergency service has made the property safe, we can carry out any Gas Safe repair work needed afterward.

What to do before we arrive

Find your stopcock and shut it off if the leak is mains-fed, that alone limits the damage more than anything we can do once we arrive. If it is a hot water leak specifically, the cylinder or immersion heater's own isolation point may need shutting instead. If you are not sure which applies, call or WhatsApp us and we will talk you through it.

Response and pricing

Emergency, out-of-hours and weekend call-out is £120, which covers the visit itself; the actual repair is priced and agreed before we start unless it is a simple fix that falls inside the call-out. Weekday daytime emergencies are usually the fastest to get to; evenings and weekends we prioritise based on severity, a genuinely flooding property comes before a stopped-but-contained leak.

After the emergency fix

An emergency visit stops the immediate problem. If the underlying cause needs a bigger repair (a full pipe section replaced, a fitting properly resoldered rather than temporarily clamped), we say so and book that as a follow-up rather than trying to do a permanent fix under emergency time pressure.
